Summary[]
In August of 2018, a major heatwave swept across Japan, and Takafumi and Uncle were feeling the effects of it. Uncle, especially, whose Sega Saturn wouldn't boot up, causing him to have a meltdown. Sumika would arrive there shortly after with ice cream as Takafumi looks on the net about how to repair a Sega Saturn. After they enjoy the ice cream, Sumika asks why they haven't thought of using Uncle's magic to cool the place down. Immediately, Uncle casts ice magic in the room, cooling the place down.
Sumika suggests they invest in an A/C, but the lack of funds prevents that. So, Sumika pitches the idea of posting his memory videos online, but Takafumi rejects that notion. To argue his point, he has Uncle show an old memory of his watching a memory of his Uncle's memory. Spirits are suggested as a way to get funding, prompting Sumika to ask what they are. Uncle explains they're only fairies in name and doesn't know what they look like. The ice spirit that Uncle summoned to cast his magic then details it wants a cow's head as compensation for his work. It gave the warning if they didn't accomplish this, the fairy threatened to freeze their fields for ten years. However, it changed its mind and accepted a fish head as a compromise. Uncle was remarkably calm and happy about the resolution, but his attitude disconcerted Takafumi and Sumika. To that point, Uncle notes his time playing dark-themed video games in the '90s caused him to become desensitized.
An alter is set up for the fish head sacrifice, and Uncle starts craving it, blaming said craving on his time as a Draco, which Takafumi can relate to. Their conversation then changes to Uncle talking about the danger of staying transformed for a long duration of time and pulls up another memory of his. It was the memory of his time as a Blaze Dragon, where his inability to transform back because he was trapped in the Dragon's thought pattern. Eventually, Tsundere Elf would locate Uncle after following a rumor about his location and fight him. Ultimately, Elf managed to overpower Uncle enough so she could mentally connect with Uncle's mind and help him revert back.
Afterward, a noble accompanied by an army of soldiers who wanted to deal with Uncle notes his surprise about what he had discovered. Elf recognizes him as the head of Regfalgen Family, with whom she has a financial debt. It's also revealed that Elf is a princess, shocking both Takafumi and Sumika. The memory continues as Regfalgen, and his army of soldiers taunt Elf calling her princess and prompting her to draw her weapon, but is stopped thanks to a dark pactcard. Regfalgen then monologues about how foolish Elf was using herself as collateral and how using her will open doors for his company. However, Uncle wakes up and releases Elf from her magical restraint and, believing he's repaid the debt to her, tries to leave, but is held back by Elf. An argument starts between the two and is stopped by the upset Regfalgen about his predicament. A large warrior named DolDoll steps into the picture and asks if it's alright if he intervenes. However, before DolDoll could, Uncle puts on the same ring Elf had, which aggravates and causes her to shake the ground with her bolstering energy. Uncle then grabs onto Elf as the ground below them falls, revealing a swamp. Regfalgen distraught over wearing the ring, orders his men to retreat. Down in the swamp, Uncle and Elf have a brief heart-to-heart, until they start heading to a nearby hot spring by a volcano. On their way, they talk about Uncle's bathing obsession. When the memory stops, the three realize how cold the apartment is getting, and Uncle quickly stops his ice magic. However, that doesn't stop the apartment from becoming freezing cold, making them endure the temperature.
Laying on a bed wrapped snuggly in separate blankets, Sumika opines that Uncle invested in an A/C, but he has his pride as a YouTuber. Takafumi then suggests that his Sword of Darkness could cut the cold air, but Uncle says claims it doesn't work like that and then demonstrates how it only severs power flows. Their conversation would then switch to Uncle's modern-day ignorance of what a blue tooth is
Another memory is shown about how a deadly parasite killed someone, and Uncle visits Elf and Mabel to check and see if they have it. While they don't have the parasite marking on the stomach, indicating whether you have it or not, it's revealed that Uncle had one. Back in the present, the apartment had since heated up Takafumi, and Sumika, who had been watching the memory, asked for it to end. With fish off the menu to eat, they order and enjoy some pizza together.
