Sumika Fujimiya (藤宮澄夏 (ふじみや すみか), Fujimiya Sumika) is a primary character in the Isekai Ojisan series. She is the older sister of Chiaki Fujimiya and the childhood friend of Takafumi Takaoka whom she reunites with after years and learns about his uncle.

Appearance

Sumika is an attractive young woman with stringy shoulder-length black hair (more purple-tinged in the anime adaptation), brown eyes, an ample bosom and long legs.

Sumika generally dresses in a somewhat reserved manner, so much so that she thinks a photo of her in a one-piece bathing suit is revealing. Typically she prefers subdued colors with a preference for mauve and pink.

As a child she was very unattractive and more resembled an ugly boy than a girl. In her own recollections of her childhood she looks more like a younger version of her contemporary self.

Personality

In her childhood, Sumika was a lot more violent and picked on other kids, including Takafumi Takaoka. Takafumi, for his part, did not seem to process this as bullying at the time. She is ashamed when the memory spell makes her realize how much of a bully she was, believing she was actually a pretty, and shy girl when the opposite was true.

As a young adult, Sumika is generally level-headed, playing the straight woman to Takafumi and Yousuke, though she quickly becomes used to their eccentricities. She generally shares Takafumi's interests in Uncle's stories, though notably she lets on she has an interest in more mature content than either of them, such as asking the spirits of memory to not 'cut to the next morning' when she thinks a memory is going to become sexual.

Relationships

• Takafumi Takaoka: Takafumi is Sumika's childhood friend whom she has a crush on, although he remains oblivious.
• Yousuke Shibazaki: Though initially uncomfortable around Ojisan for his strange antics, Sumika quickly began to mirror Takafumi in regards to him once she had confirmed his stories were true and he could actually use magic.

Etymology

• The name Sumika means "clear, pure" (澄) (sumi) and "summer" (夏) (ka).
• Sumika's surname Fujimiya means "wisteria" (藤) (fuji) and "temple, shrine, palace" (宮) (miya).

Trivia

• It is very likely that she is bisexual since although she is in love with Takafumi, she has also been seen to be attracted to other women, such as when Ojisan transformed into Sui and when she asked the spirits to let them see women in the bathroom.
